I found this article on the new Great Gatsby movie. It references a lot of the old attempts at making the book into a film. There have been several movies in the past, but according to the article, none of them have been quite right. I think it's interesting that despite all of the many cinematic ventures into the world of Gatsby, none have succeeded in mirroring Fitzgerald's masterpiece. I think that this has something to do with the many internal and external conflicts that occur in the novel. There are many sides to the story and it is difficult to capture them all in two hours.
