As I was reading the last paragraph of Teddy, it seemed to be somewhat vague of an ending. This is due to the fact that we are not given any details on the cause of the scream or who was screaming (although it can be inferred that it was Booper screaming because it sounded like it came from a small female child). On page 302 of the big book, it says, "He was little more than halfway down the staircase when he heard an all-piercing, sustained scream - clearly coming from a small, female child. It was highly acoustical, as though it were reverberating within four tiled walls." This leads the reader to believe that Booper is screaming because something bad happened to Teddy, most likely his death. I thought this because of Teddy's journal entry on the bottom of page 276 saying, "It will happen today or February 14, 1958 when I am sixteen. It is ridiculous to mention even." I believe that in this entry, Teddy is referring to his death date and therefore lead me to think that he died when the little girl screamed.

I do agree with believing it was Teddy who died, however I think this story had one of the least vague endings compared to the others. The other stories have more open-ended endings with room for interpretation of what happens next for the characters. Here, Teddy (or Booper) dies. End of story. I feel like this was a closed and specific ending.
