Caroline: An Autobiography
I remember how Tony Kushner said that Caroline, Or Change was the most autobiographical out of all various plays. Here are some of the connections I've found between Tony Kushner (and his life) and Caroline, Or Change.

I also think that it is cool that this play that Tony came up with when he was deciding wether or not he would be a playwrite.
ReplyDeleteYeah i think that the main reason why they mirror so much is because he saw the social injustices he encountered during his life and i personally think he wrote this play to kind of shine the light on and draw attention to the cracks within society and the racial discrimination he was exposed to during the time he grew up. keep in mind it was the period of civil rights movements and equality for all.
