My Inner Monologue

This is honestly my inner monologue while reading Macbeth.

  1. This is funny but it does point out some major plot holes and weird things in the play. I think it's pretty typical for Shakespeare's plays to have some bizarre details that just don't seem to make sense. For example, Romeo and Juliet were teenagers who only knew each other for three days. Maybe its just a modern perspective, but I think even back then these details would have been odd.

  3. I agree with Jen. I think that even though the video is hilarious, it does point out some gaping holes in the plot. I don't want to disrespect Shakespeare or anything, but it does seem that a lot of his plays have weird loopholes or unrealistic plots. The fact that Macduff was born by C-Section is a HUGE loophole to the otherwise "flawless" plan to Macbeth's rise to power. Also, the witches' prophecies are weirdly specific. The fact that they tell Macbeth that he will be safe unless the forest moves is weirdly specific, but also has a giant loophole. I feel like Shakespeare just made his plots really easy to resolve by finding loopholes.
